Former U.S. President Donald Trump has disclosed nearly $60 million in income from a cryptocurrency venture, showcasing how deeply he has financially benefited from the rise of digital assets.
Major Earnings from World Liberty Financial
On Friday, Trump reported $57.4 million in earnings tied to World Liberty Financial (WLF), a crypto enterprise he supports alongside his sons, Donald Jr. and Eric Trump.

According to a 200+ page financial disclosure released by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, Trump holds 15.75 billion governance tokens in the venture, granting him significant voting power within the company.
This crypto income ranks among his largest financial gains, alongside royalties from books and investments in real estate.
Ethics Concerns and Growing Scrutiny

The annual disclosure is expected to increase scrutiny over Trump’s financial ties to the cryptocurrency industry.
Watchdog groups and political analysts have expressed concern that Trump’s business interests could pose potential conflicts of interest, particularly if he were to return to political office.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
WLF’s Ambitions and Trump’s Growing Crypto Influence
In January, World Liberty Financial announced that it had sold 21 billion tokens in a public offering, aiming to raise $1 billion. A 2024 SEC filing described Trump envoy Steve Witkoff as the “driving force” behind the initiative.

Trump’s public support has coincided with a surge in cryptocurrency markets. Bitcoin recently soared past $100,000 per coin, with many crediting the rally in part to his endorsement. Meanwhile, under SEC Chairman Paul Atkins, the agency has dropped several high-profile lawsuits against crypto groups.
Trump’s Broader Crypto Agenda

Trump has also actively promoted the $TRUMP memecoin across social media. Last month, he even hosted a private dinner for top token holders.
His family’s media company recently announced plans to launch its own bitcoin ETF, while also aiming to raise $2.5 billion for a new project dubbed a “Bitcoin Treasury.”
In May, Eric Trump and Donald Jr. spoke at a bitcoin conference in Las Vegas, emphasizing that crypto transactions are “cheaper,” “faster,” “safer,” and “more transparent” than traditional fiat currency.
Conclusion
Donald Trump’s increasing involvement in cryptocurrency — both financially and politically — signals a notable shift in how American political figures are engaging with digital assets. As Trump moves further into the crypto world, questions about influence, regulation, and ethics are sure to follow.
