US Stock Futures Edge Higher as Anthropic’s IPO Filing Steadies Tech Ahead of the Fed
Published October 27, 2026 · Finance-Solutes.com Research Desk
US stock futures edged higher late on Monday, October 26, after Anthropic filed for its initial public offering. The move helped tech shares hold onto a rebound after two difficult weeks. Investors now face a packed schedule, with big tech earnings and a two-day Federal Reserve meeting arriving this week.
At 7:33 a.m. Hanoi time on Tuesday, S&P 500 futures were up 0.05% at 29,495.25 points. Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.21% to 29,498.50 points. Dow Jones 30 futures slipped 0.03% to 52,533.0 points.
Investor takeaway: The Anthropic filing supports the AI trade, but it also exposes the huge cost of building frontier models. With the Fed expected to hold rates and three mega-cap earnings reports due, the week is likely to test how much patience investors still have for AI spending.
Wall Street Recovers Some Recent Losses
Futures were supported by a positive session on Wall Street on Monday. Major indexes recovered part of their recent losses as technology stocks bounced back. The S&P 500 gained 0.7%, the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.8%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.28%.
Artificial intelligence stayed at the center of trading. Anthropic submitted its IPO filing early on Monday, which underlined the ambitions of the AI startup. However, the document also put the cost of that ambition in plain view.
What Anthropic’s IPO Filing Reveals
According to the filing, Anthropic’s net loss in the first half of 2026 grew roughly five-fold to about $80.7 billion. Revenue over the same period reached about $16.3 billion. Reports on the filing indicate that much of the loss comes from non-cash accounting charges linked to the rising value of convertible financing instruments.
The company plans to list under the ticker ANT. It is reportedly valued at around $1.5 trillion, which is below the roughly $2 trillion level that was expected earlier.
The listing also arrives while AI-related stocks face closer scrutiny. Investors increasingly question whether the wave of debt-funded AI spending can produce adequate returns. Those doubts have pressured AI and tech valuations over the past two weeks and triggered sharp falls on Wall Street.
Big Tech Earnings Take Center Stage
A string of results from large technology companies should offer fresh clues on where AI trading goes next. The key dates this week are:
- Tuesday: Seagate Technology (NASDAQ:STX), Boeing (NYSE:BA) and Freeport-McMoRan (NYSE:FCX) report results.
- Wednesday: Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) publish third-quarter results.
- Thursday: Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) reports, alongside US third-quarter GDP and PCE inflation data.
The Fed Meeting: Markets Expect a Pause
The Federal Reserve begins a two-day policy meeting on Tuesday and will announce its decision on Wednesday. Markets broadly expect the central bank to keep interest rates unchanged.
In September, the Fed raised rates by 25 basis points to a range of 3.75% to 4.00%. It was the first increase since 2023. Policymakers are expected to keep assessing the effect of that move.
Fed Chair Kevin Warsh will be closely watched for hints about further tightening. He took a hawkish tone in September and warned that persistent inflation could require more rate hikes. Later this week, the GDP and PCE readings will show how inflation and growth are holding up. PCE is the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge.
What This Means for Your Portfolio
- AI exposure carries two sides. Strong revenue growth supports the sector, while heavy losses and spending keep valuation risk high.
- Earnings can move the whole market. Results from Alphabet, Microsoft and Amazon may shape sentiment across tech and AI-linked stocks.
- Rate expectations still matter. A hawkish tone from the Fed could pressure growth stocks even if rates stay unchanged.
- Diversification remains the practical response. Spreading exposure across sectors reduces the impact of any single event or report.
